Billy Meier Did Not Predict The Paris Terrorist Attacks
As is the case with many significant events in history, there are those who will profess that the event was foreseen or prophesied. The terrorist attacks in Paris this last Friday are no exception.
Michael Horn is a conspiracy theorist (for lack of a better term) with a parochial interest in promoting the prophecies of a man named Billy Meier. Meier is the source of many controversial photographs of alleged UFOs, which he presents in support of his claim that he is in contact with extraterrestrial beings. Meier’s claims have never held up to the most superficial scrutiny. After much research in to his modus operandi by skeptics, Meier’s efforts are considered a rather unsophisticated hoax.
Does any of this discourage Micheal Horn? Hardly. Horn is Meier’s #1 cheerleader. Horn’s latest crankery, courtesy of his blog, suggests that Billy Meier, in 1958, predicted the Paris terrorist attacks. Meier’s prophecy #83 reads:
“And it will be that fanatical Islamists carry out bloody revenge on the distant descendants of the Christians, for their earlier crusades when they accomplish their deadly and destructive acts through irrepressible terror all over the world.”
Just like many of the other “prophecies” of Meiers, this one is so general, so unspecific that it could be applied to any number of Islamist terrorist attacks since 1958. Notice how there is never a specific date or location associated with prophecies such as this. No mention of ISIS or ISIL, and no mention of the degree of carnage. What about the Charlie Hebdo attacks back in January of this year? Is the same “prophecy” not applicable to that event? And to say that this “prophecy” was a “warning” of some kind is ridiculous. How can you warn others of something with no specific details? “Something bad is going to happen sometime in the future” is not a prediction. It is nothing at all.
Horn’s application of this “prophecy” to the terrible events of a few days ago is simply opportunism. Meiers was about as impressive with prophecy as Sylvia Browne was with her psychic abilities.
